Amyah Burks
Hi, welcome! I'm Amyah (Uh-My-Yuh) - YES I have name pronunciation trauma, thanks, Mom. I am the Founder and Lead Planner of Oh My Wedding Co. When creating the brand name "Oh My" I began to think, "What is the first thing I want people to say when they see my work?"... It immediately hit me, "Oh My Wedding Co". A lot of my close friends and family often call me "My" for short. This way, it also attracted me on a personal level.
My love for weddings started as a young girl thinking of "My Dream Princess Wedding". Years later, I moved to Fort Worth, TX and was blessed with the opportunity to work as a Venue Coordinator and that's where it all began! During my time as a Venue Coordinator I learned everything it took to be successful in the event industry, from vendor communication, venue contracts, and most importantly client satisfaction.
My life began in Louisville KY where I currently reside. When I'm not tending to a wedding you can find me attending my favorite pilates class, enjoying nature whether it's a hike, walk, or even sitting and watching the sunset by the Ohio River (happens to be my favorite)...
I recently found excitement in reading, romance novels being my favorite - go figures. I love shopping; it's a very serious problem, animals, all things girly since I am a major girly-girl. Dresses, skirts, pink, flowers, you name it I love it. I danced competitively for majority of my life, so don't be surprised if I jump on the dance floor and get my boogie on!
I am a daughter of the most high, a mom to 3 kitty's Pumba, Kaido, and Pluto (you've heard of them somewhere Hint: take a look at the "Investments"), and a wife!!!!
Long term, I plan to specialize in luxury weddings, own a wedding venue, and expand my business into a "one stop bridal shop". Everything I do now is preparing me for the future. I can't wait to see what God has in store. Come with me as I embark on this journey!
